Noida Violence Mastermind Arrested: UP STF Catches B.Tech Engineer Aditya Anand in Tamil Nadu
UP STF arrests Aditya Anand, the mastermind behind Noida workers' protest violence, in Tamil Nadu.
Noida: In a major breakthrough, the Gautam Buddh
Nagar Police and the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) have
arrested Aditya Anand, the alleged mastermind behind the violent workers'
protests that shook Noida’s industrial hubs on April 13-14. Anand, a B.Tech
graduate from NIT Jamshedpur, was apprehended at the Tiruchirappalli Railway
Station in Tamil Nadu on Saturday, ending a multi-state manhunt.
Rise of the "Techie" Conspirator
Aditya Anand’s background has come as a shock to
investigators. A former software engineer at a private firm in Noida, Anand
reportedly became radicalized through social media. Police claim he was
associated with a labor-focused organization called 'Mazdoor Bigul' and had
been using his technical skills to incite workers across Noida's Phase-2 and
industrial sectors.
According to the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police
Commissionerate, Anand and his associates planned to escalate a peaceful
labor protest over wages into a violent confrontation to gain national
attention.
Violence and the Investigation: The protests on April 13 saw large-scale vandalism, where
several factory units were damaged, and police personnel were injured.
Following the incident:
- UP
STF used electronic surveillance and intelligence to track Anand's
movement from Delhi to South India.
- A
reward of ₹1 Lakh was announced for his capture.
- Police
are also investigating an "International Angle," as two X
(formerly Twitter) handles operating from Pakistan were found spreading
fake videos of "deaths" during the protest to incite further
unrest.
Transit Remand and Further Action: Aditya Anand is being brought back to Noida on a transit remand. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) is also monitoring the case to check for broader conspiracy links. This arrest is seen as a stern warning from the UP Government against those attempting to disrupt the industrial peace of the NCR.
